A LIFE-CHANGING COMMUNITY OUTREACH PROJECT-NGURUMAN
Our Community Outreach Project is kajiado West Kicks off!!
After a successful project in Samburu (where we plan to go back on 9th April 2022), we are excited to start another project in Kajiado west that targets the boy child.
Community Outreach Project Background
Nguruman is a village in Olkiramatian area of Kajiado West Sub County. The main economic activity is farming and pastoralism. The area is marred by drug abuse and school dropouts among young boys and girls. When the young lads drop out of school, there isn’t much to do and the idleness leads to substance abuse and other vices such as teenage pregnancies, theft, and alcoholism among others.
There is an urgent need to come up with a project that keeps the youth busy. Safiri Nasi understands that idleness is a devil’s workshop.
What’s the plan in this Community Outreach Project?
Safiri Nasi has come up with a football league tournament in Nguruman. The idea is to engage the youth throughout the week, for a series of months. The league (which will involve 8 teams) is crafted to last for 3-4 months with games every Saturday and Sunday. This means that the participating youth will have to be training every day for the upcoming games. This will keep them busy and unavailable for negative vices. Training and keeping fit also will help them keep away from substance abuse as well as alcoholism.
During weekend games, the unparticipating youths in the games will give audience and get busy following the tournament. This is intended to shift focus from idleness and lack of hope to a vibrant youth that believes in opportunities. The league will have a cup and rewards for the top three teams. It will be called THE SAFIRI NASI SUPER LEAGUE. When the league ends, we will measure the impact and decide the way forward.
What do we hope to achieve with this Community Outreach Project?
-A happy, healthy, intentional and active youth
-Reduction of substance abuse and alcoholism
-Youth career regeneration (Access to player signing and tournaments)
-Emergence of responsible youth in the Community
The teams

Where can you help?
The league has rewards for the top three teams, the best player, the top scorer, and the most disciplined team. If you would wish to support this initiative, you can help elevate the rewards by toping up what we already have. You can also support a team with uniform, training kit, balls, etc. Any support will be a win for the community and a great support to us for successful completion of the league.
Cheers!
